Hello again, it's been quite awhile.
This weekend was a long one and it was quite needed and very perfect!
I stayed up way too late Thursday evening working on a couple of projects, so by Thursday afternoon, I was so exhausted. I came home, curled up on the couch with my Ecuadorian blanket and enjoyed a few episodes of the office before I fell asleep.
I slept through dinner and most of the evening, but unfortunately was unable to fall asleep again. In honor of my childhood hero, Shirley Temple, I hunkered down with my DVDs and watched her and her head of curls.
Friday morning was valentines day. I'm not much into all the hype, but i settled down with something I love most; My music.
After I played for awhile, I began to pack.
Its so bittersweet. Going through old things that are attached to great memories. Having to let go of things that would be considered junk to most people. In reality it is junk, but when I look at my "junk" i re live the feelings and emotions that are embedded to each trinket, journal, or photo.
I am excited to start fresh and make new memories and create a new space for myself. Even though purging is painful, it allows room for improvement and creates a clean slate. I'm ready to start painting new adventures on this fresh palate.
My friend Kara came back from her visit to Germany and we had an adventure. And what an adventure it was!
We crossed the lake and began exploring through the woods.. once deep enough we started to see houses.. it would have been a lot more troublesome to go back the way we came so we decided to emerge and find the street and follow the roads around back to the house. We decided to embrace the unknown and venture through a persons yard as it was the only way to the road..
Shortly after we began our walk along the unknown street, I noticed my dog had followed us. There was no use getting her to go back the way we came. She isn't a city dog so getting her to stay out of the road was tough.. i tried holding her collar, but the cars driving by scared her so badly she pulled out of it, forcing me to chase and wrestle her to put it back on. We tried using Kara's Shoelace as a leash, but she just pulled and dragged her feet. She pulled me into a ditch pond under a bridge and dove into the water.. so I ended carrying her muddy self half the way.. and she isn't too small.
We came across this street and the irony made a picture a must. |
We looked it up later, and this was the path we took.. the red was walking distance and the blue was where we were rescued. Keep in mind that the lake is 75 acres |
Saturday, after a bit of rooftop music, I packed a bit more. It was a lazy day since I was still very sore.
Not many events presented themselves, I just played, sang, packed, and rested. I had a lovely dinner with my grandparents, dad, and great grandmother. Afterwards I chatted with my grandmother and we planned the revival of an old tradition..
Sunday was a Sweet adventure in itself.
After church and some sketchy tacos we ventured on what began as a book cover photo shoot.
Kara was taking pictures of Maddie for Gracie's book and Julia and I noticed we both were wearing springy colors, so we took our own picture.
We adventured around the town a little more. Made fools of ourselves by crossing the street as weird as we could. It was grand. After we had had our laughs, we headed to Tutti Frutti for some frozen yogurt.
As we were leaving, we found a stranded shopping cart, and i couldn't resist.
Then the Goodwill adventure began!
Maddie found her old dress |
We basically had a blast not caring what people thought of us.
We found some interesting dresses and figured they looked kind of like the characters from Frozen, so we made the most of the opportunity!
Conceal, Don't feel. |
Let it go! |
The last evening of my break was spent peacefully on my soon to be back porch pondering change..
"Ending today's shenanigans with a peaceful visit to my new home.. It's getting easier to accept the fact that change is inevitable. I'm ready to face this new adventure"
Many blessings, Felicity.
