Michael's Story

Let me tell you about a young man named Michael. Michael was a man after gods own heart, he loved everyone and was always involved in church events. Willingly, he chose to serve.
Michael had a younger brother and the two of them lived with both of their parents. While Michael and his brother were Christians, their parents were not. His parents never went to church or any of the events we held, but that didn't stop Michael from loving God with all his heart.
I remember when  everything changed, I remember that day, that moment when the day went from joyous to tragic. It was a Sunday morning at church, the congregation was focused on our pastor who was walking up to the makeshift stage in the front of the community center where we met every Sunday morning. As he stood in front us with tears in his eyes he told the church that our dear friend Michael had passed away, at only 21 years of age. As the words left his lips they stung my ears, the deafening silence was pierced with cries of mourning. I could not cry, I just sat there, unable to move, numb to everything. How could a God so great take someone so young? How could he use this for good?
Michael's funeral was so full that people were standing against the walls and out the back door, there were so many people there to honor him because of the impact that he had made on their lives.
Our church had made it a point to reach out and comfort Michael's family who had started attending church for their first time. Shortly, they became regulars , sitting every week in Michael's old seat.
Sometime this fall the men of the church had a retreat where they could get away from work and focus on God while hanging out with other men for a weekend. Michael's dad decided to go with the men on the retreat this year, and  he was drawn in by  Gods love. Michael's dad accepted Christ as his personal lord and savior.
You may ask why God does things that don't make sense to us at the time, but he has a plan and brings good things out of sorrow. He has brought life out of death.

If you are struggling with something and you can't understand why God has allowed bad things to happen, just remember that it is all a part of God's big plan. We can only see one piece of the giant jigsaw that God is making. Only he can see the whole picture, we just need to trust that he will reveal his glory in the end.

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18
Just remember that ALL things you are struggling with in your life are there to bring glory to God. Just trust in Him and He will pull you through. You can make it. If you need anything please just let me know, I would love to pray for you.
God bless!
Love, Felicity
